Call To Action – Comment On Proposed Permanent Rules For The OMMP

new approach oregon marijuana legalizationI saw the following urgent call to action come across Facebook. Be aware that a couple of the public testimony events have already taken place, but there are still more on the way, and you can provide written testimony until January 29. See below, via Facebook:

The OHA’s proposed PERMANENT rules will effectively SHUT DOWN THE OMMP!! These rules go into effect March 1st!!

Please share this info, come to the meetings, and provide written/oral testimony. We need every single grower and patient to tell the OHA to leave the OMMP alone- PATIENTS WILL SUFFER!!!

OHA’s proposed PERMANENT rules are going to destroy the OMMP program. In fact, it was designed to do just that. They have imposed unrealistic, unaffordable, and unwarranted regulations that is seriously nearly impossible to comply with. Unless you plan on growing 12 plants or less for yourself & another patient that must live at the grow site, you will have to comply with these regulations. Which means you need thousands of dollars for surveillance systems, an approved safe, fencing that will require an engineer, survey and permits, water rights, and more!!!

AND here’s the worse part- OHA can send the cops to your grow at ANY time to perform an inspection! THE COPS! Not an OHA employee!

If you haven’t read these regulations, at this point there is two things you need to know……OMMP growers are being forced into OLCC & will effectively shut down nearly all the OMMP growers. Patients will suffer.

We need EVERY grower to show up at these next meetings and simply state these reg’s will shut them down & patients will suffer. We need patients to show up & state these reg’s will shut their grower down, & tell their story!!

We need this now……before it’s too late!!

  1. What is going on??? I live outside Madison, in Stoughton WI… I already signed a release, and filled out OMMC’s Forms, and My Medical Chart are supposedly on Their was as I type this… I have been waiting eagerly by the Phone, and despite being very sick, I am going to fly into Portland for an appt to get My Medicinal Card, which My Doctors here support, but have Their hands tied because of WI’s Governor… I have Chron’s, BiPolar Depression, Anxiety, Glacoma, PTSD, OCD, ADD/ADHD, and have been Stellar at My City of Madison Career for 22 YEARS, but now atop of all that, I now have a Brain Tumor… I now deal with 24/7 Migraines and Nausea, which cause Me to Retire Disabled from a Career I was great at, close to a substantial Promotion , and I loved My Career… But I can’t work through the Migraines and Nausea!!! It also took away My balance so I fall, which I can’t do atop a ladder over concrete… I’m Retired Disabled with a modest pension, and blew My savings driving to Denver and Back… Most often too sick to drive, but a Miscarriage followed by a Divorce left Me all alone for 15 Years… And after I quit drinking about 10 Years ago, My phone ringing quit too.., so I’m all alone, without Friends, therefore I don’t know a “Somebody” around here, so I am force to either go on opiates, that I flatly refuse to take, and forced to drive to Denver for My medicine… It’s either pain and nausea atop all my other problems, or Marijuana ??? No brainer, BECAUSE WEED CURES ALL MY MALADIES, MY MIGRAINES AND NAUSEA TOO… FAR BETTER THAN MY 15-20 DIFFERENT PRESCRIPTIONS IM CURRENTLY ON… WHO KNOW BUT MY MEDS MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE MISCARRIAGE LATER DIVORCE, COST MY MY HEALTH, A BRAIN TUMOR, CAUSED ME TO BE LONELY WITHOUT A GIRL AND A FAMILY MY DREAMS EVEN MIGHT CAUSED MY BRAIN TUMOR??? THE EVIDENCE SAYS IT DID AND IF I WAS ALLOWED MARIJUANA INSTEAD OF ALL THESE MEDS, MIGHT JUST HAVE SAVED MY GIRL MY PAIN MY DEPRESSION MY DIARRHEA MY NEED TO HAVE TO USE A CATH TO GO PEE CAUSED BY BRAIN DAMAGE MY CAREER MY FUTURE FAMILY AND BEING PAIN FREE AND HAPPY… Marijuana could’ve saved all that but I followed the rules and am paying for it!!! I’m suicidal unless I can’t be treated with harmless marijuana but doesn’t look good!!! I’ll probably Die in pain, nausea, no family, no job, and alone??? That’s what I’ve paid the price for following the law and Doctors… I’m saddened that now my Oregon Plans are gone!!!

  2. I agree, Johnson is now backpedaling on his claims of “legalization!”. Baloney, it was for taxed regulation with greed as the motivating factor.

  3. Anthony Johnston lied to the voters . New Approch Oregon threatened to boycott me ( a medical provider ) and others because i took up a vote no stance on 91 . If you would like to know who these individuals are , send your email address .. Dont let these people lie to you .. They knew exactly what they were getting paid to do … We now say goodby to the OMMP as we welcome taxed and regulated marijuana in oregon ..

  4. This is an outrage. Has anyone attended these meetings? I’m thinking of driving to Bend today to attend and give a voice to my patients who are too ill to leave home. Are you attending any of these meetings Johnny?
