First Licensed Medical Marijuana Delivery System In Nation Approved

Fairfax, CA ( Marin County) : On Thursday night June 17th ,the Fairfax Planning Commission voted to approve Lynnette Shaw’s plan for one of the first licensed and regulated medical cannabis delivery system in the nation.

“I am so relieved and happy” Shaw said, tears streaming down her face. “Everyone worked very hard to help update and modernize my historical permit. Fairfax has now also set the standard to regulate safe medical cannabis delivery to homes of qualified members who cannot travel to our licensed facility. I am very proud of our Town and feel honored for all the support we have.”

The Marin Alliance for Medical Marijuana has been licensed to distribute medical marijuana since 1997. Shaw held the only permit to do so in California for almost ten years, until other municipalities started to regulate the not-for-profit sales of medical cannabis. There have been very few problems over the 13 years the Marin Alliance has been open, and not a single violation of her lengthy list of conditions.Shaw also submitted and received several other modifications to her permit that loosened up many of the very strict rules she has been required to enforce under the threat of losing her permit if one violation occurred.

“It has been very hard to enforce all those conditions, but we did. Some people got very angry when we could never make any exceptions for anyone. We started off with 84 rules, later modified to 72, and now it’s 63 conditions. There were several more outdated rules that were removed, but the delivery regulations increased it back up to 63. I hope that the patients will find it easier now, with less rules to follow” Shaw stated.

It will be interesting to see if more and more “deliver to your door” operations such as this start sprouting up now that this one has been officially approved.

  1. I have worked with many patients over the years who are too sick to drive to the collectives- this would be such a great option for these patients. Obviously right now if they have a caregiver they can get delivery – but then the patient is limited to their caregivers supply and prices. If we could iron out the kinks to make it legal and safe i think this is a great idea.

  2. One grain of sand to start the hour glass pouring in the direction of the reestablishment of our rights, both constitutional and legislative. Presently I spent my weekend preparing a response to the Steve Cooley Los Angeles County District Attorney’s statement that ‘”ALL DELIVERY SERVICES ARE ILLEGAL.”

First I discuss the 147,000 already established Alzheimer’s patients, and the 325,000 baby boomers expected to join those ranks in the next 5 years. I supplied studies which show that cannabis helps to prevent Alzheimer, It also points to regression of the plaques and tangles. I provided proof by their own statement at a council board stating “Everyone knows that Alzheimer’s patients need their services provided in their homes.” This is derived from the councils own statements. But yet Steve Cooley would deprive these suffering individuals of the critical medicine they need.

Next I moved on to show that almost 1/4 of the citizens of Los Angeles are metro riders. These people can not drive, and now that they have forced the dispensaries close to the neighborhoods to shut down, these patients can no longer walk to the closet one they are forced into downtown crime filled areas….because Steve Cooley and Bonnie “Capone” Dumans, San Diego County District attorney along with the Sheriffs of California have ganged together to be Al Capon style gangsters. They refuse to follow the law and are using guns against the citizens who are following the State Law.

It is important for the rest of the nation to understand that the crime associated with cannabis is brought on from law enforcement. They are the ones that are robbing the clubs, and then they arrest everyone, and the poor patients are forced to spend time in jail and no one is doing anything about it.

We have to do two things:

First we recall all of them….if you are not representing us then you dont need to a representative elected official. join the Peacefull Recall Revolution, starting with Bonnie “Capone” Dumanis, San Diego County District Attorney, and then Recaling the DA’s in California that do not follow the State law, and then the Sheriffs who break law after law in the name of the law.

Second….vote NO ON THE 435! No congressional incumbent back in office…Vote for the indys, break the corporate ties, get rid of the elected officials not reprenting our wants and desires, and WHAT WE FREAKING VOTED FOR.

The constitution give us the bullets we need and out laptops give us the weapons. Peacefully we can recall them out of office, we can vote indys in to clean up things….

Then we can have more success stories like this.
