Latest Poll Shows 65% Support For 2016 Florida Medical Marijuana Initiative

Florida medical marijuanaPolls can be deceiving, which is why I always tell people to take poll results with a grain of salt. However, polls are useful in trying to gauge support for something at a particular time. Polls are certainly better than just blind guessing. I always try to find as many polls as possible and kind of average them out. That is not always easy, as there’s sometimes only one poll out there, or only one recent poll out there.

A poll was released yesterday by Public Policy Polling, which found overwhelming support for Florida’s medical marijuana initiative. Per the poll:

It looks like there’s a good chance the second time will be the charm when it comes to getting a medical marijuana initiative passed in Florida. 65% of voters say they’ll vote for one this fall to only 28% who are opposed, passing the 60% threshold with some breathing room. There’s bipartisan support for the measure with Democrats (75/18), independents (70/22), and Republicans (53/40) all expressing their favor for it.

I remember during the 2014 campaign there were several polls which showed medical marijuana winning in Florida by an even larger margin of victory than this poll. When all of the dust settled, the lead disappeared and the initiative lost by just two percentage points on Election Day. Lets make sure that doesn’t happen this year and help get the word out to everyone you know in Florida. You can find out more about the Florida campaign at this link here.

I live in Florida. It has a huge pill problem, that turned into a huge heroin problem on the streets, and it happened lot’s of other places too. So these older people which is over 40 percent of vote think this will lead there grandkids to do. Well I’m pretty sure there are other smokers like me that also don’t feel so great about marketing Florida with John Morgan backing it. It’s the next step to Morgan’s Marijuana on every street. No one for first 2 years that don’t spend over a huge amount like 5 million aren’t going to get looked at plans for companies for marijuana. Then leave the mom and pop stores 5 years behind on getting to have a store and they have the major markets taking over first, It’s not going to allow anyone that grow’s and love cannabis truly and understand it properties. It funny how you hear a drug commercial then they talk 1000 miles an hour at you “If you take this pill, you may have less erections, possible heart failure, and men who grow breast…….” come on. I hope Trump and I damn sure wish Bernie would go independent. I see trump passing it nationwide faster then anyone soon because he makes $ for our broke government. Today I saw insane prices they would make if all 50 states where tasked and it was at least a billion a year. Big tobacco is 500-800 million whos gonna win this war, well both probably I most likely won’t change smoker’s minds not to smoke but the number where 2.8 billion to 5 now if that is even more than 1 million dollars are country needs it.I don’t think any state will have more then 3-4 year at the latest that all states have some form. Also people say you can bring up that people can purchase booze, a way worse drug ,but can’t say nothing about it. I call Bullshit to allow a drug that kills so many thousands of people a year drunk driving or wasted life. Both should be band or both should be illegal or legal not a if a kinda sorta will deal with it later thing. FIGHT THE RIGHT TO SMOKE CANNABIS

  2. That would be a huge deal, yes. New England is such a small region that if either one of those states legalized– especially both– that would put dispensaries within, at most, a 8-12 hour drive for anyone in the region. NH, the only state in New England that has not decriminalized small amounts of marijuana, would be bordering two states with recreational marijuana. lol.

  3. personally I think the biggest story of 2016 will be Vermont..if Vermont passes legalization and it does it through the legislature…that will be a huge precedent set..that other states will follow..it will give even more legitimacy to legislature acting on their own…

After that..Massachusetts is the second biggest…if it legalizes…it will be right in the middle..and only a few hours in any direction from a huge amount of people..namely New York and Pennsylvania…

  4. It really pisses me off; that with ALL of my medical problems, I am forced to take medication that has sooooooo many BAD side effects; that the cannabis what has NO side effects on my health; I am praying that this time it is passed. I know I am not the only one; thousands of us here need it!! It is more of the drug companies that do not want this to happen!!!
