Marijuana Was Top Google Search For Alaska And Colorado In 2014

This last year was a very big year for marijuana. Alaska, Oregon, and Washington D.C. voted to legalize marijuana. Florida nearly passed a medical marijuana initiative. New York City and Philadelphia decriminalized marijuana. Colorado and Washington started rolling out legal recreational marijuana sales. The list goes on and on.

Below is a map showing what were the most searched Google words/terms by state in 2014 (via Business Insider). As you can see, the top search in Alaska was ‘legalize marijuana’ and Colorado was ‘marijuana.’ I have to say, I’m disappointed in my home state of Oregon. I would have thought marijuana would have been the top term here as well, but apparently it was ‘Ukraine’ for reasons unknown to me:

  1. Apologies, I never introduced myself our name Randmint Inc. Rand stands for WitwatersRAND it is 6000f above sea level where gold and diamonds where discovered. So most of our companies involved in mineral and plan are for example Rand Refinery, Rand Gold, Rand coins, Rand Pay etc.

  2. “Zombies” “Ebola Conspiracy” Why dont they google hospital acquired infections of biblical proportions and antidepressants not working past 5 years efficacy per pubmed.

  3. Seems like the farther out into the country you go the further from daily reality the searches become.
Except California of course which is always in it’s own category.
