Missouri Rep. Billy Long Doesn’t Understand The Difference Between Cocaine And Hemp

missouri billy long hempVote Hemp published a letter from Missouri Representative Billy Long which was a response to one of his constituents that asked him to support the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2013. I find it odd that someone who dislikes hemp so much, doesn’t even understand what it is. Is he serious? Read for yourself below:

Dear Constituent,

Thank you far contacting me with your thoughts on the legalization of marijuana and hemp.

There is considerable controversy regarding drug policy reform, including marijuana This controversy ranges from the costs necessary to enforce current law to its potential to cause harm throughout society, such as low productivity and health concerns. There are concerns that legalizing marijuana and hemp would open the door to legalizing other drugs such as opiates, cocaine and hallucinogens.

While I am a strong believer in personal freedom, I do not support the recreational or medical use of illegal drugs regardless of whether the drug is marijuana, cocaine, or any other illegal substance. Congress has made decisions to protect our nation from certain illegal drugs, and allowing each state to make its own decision would adversely affect the protections that exist against those substances.

Again, thank you for contacting me on this important issue. Hearing the views of all Missourians gives me the opportunity to better understand how important issues could impact the people of the Seventh District and the future interests of the nation.

  1. Hey, you know we still need to give these guys our respect. You never know what the situation is. He may not yet know how many people in his district support legalization. He may just need a little more convincing.

I would tell him legalizing opium would lead people away from dangerous drugs like Herione.
Heroine is more dangerous then raw opium, the added chemicals in it damage the body.
Instead legalizing it may bring luxury goods like soap that makes your whole body feel good. Right now it’s just illegal soap, but you can stay clean off drugs with illegal soap.

Opium is not marijuana, but it is a medicinal flower that is grouped together with cannabis.
Cocaine is something that only grows in high elevations. Similar to cocaine, a mushroom that grows from the brain of a caterpillar is the tibet version of cocaine. This mushroom increases your oxygen intake in your blood and works as an aphrodisiac invigorating you.
You can overdose on this drug, if you take too much your heart becomes completely satisfied with oxygen and stops beating. China controls it by selling it at high prices around $15 a gram. It’s normally bought as a high end gift item for prices +$150.

  2. Who actually doesn’t understand the difference? Are you making the knucklehead’s argument that this fat guy is no chemist, so I am going to edify us as to chemistry? Dude, just as well he has “Rep” in front of his name since you don’t, with a reason that you don’t understand it. Gotta get educated. Gotta go to school. Mr. Rep went to civics school and promotes the use of law within his argument of why he is the man for the job.
I have a degree in chemistry, and a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia. Take your pick what I know.

  3. Ahhhh,hhhh;ahhhhh! mmmmmmm…

Marijuana is hemp; all illegal drugs are bad, because they are illegal. mmmkay
If we legalize hemp, then we will want to legalize the harder drugs in schedule 2, you know, aaaaaaahhhmmm; like cocaine, opiates and meth.
We want to keep you safe, by applying our superior logic. mmmkay

No, this is not the transcript of a politician, but of a mental patient.

  4. “While I am a strong believer in personal freedom, I do not support the recreational or medical use of illegal drugs,” what I really mean is that
“While I say I am a strong believer in personal freedom, I do not support personal freedom, now, pass me some more of that fired chicken and some of those mashed potatoes. And are those fresh biscuits and a new stick of butter?”

  5. I hear you Johnny, either way, we treat users differently than abusers and I believe even cocaine, heroin and other drugs are better than the proliferation of substances (RC’s) now on the market which can surely be blamed on the war on drugs. People are going to do these drugs regardless and having them illegal just allows them to use police on something which is a health issue.

Legalizing cocaine and heroin would destroy CIA black op funding. Something to think about anyway. The authoritarian pessimists love using the drug war as a reason to invade and protect corporate interests abroad. That needs to end as much as prohibition of marijuana. Obviously the DEA and the CIA are against legalizing marijuana as it is seen as an erosion of the whole premise of prohibition. Which it clearly is. And they are losing this round I believe.

Actually I’m a lot more interested in maybe getting to be a small pot farmer again than fighting these battles but the truth is what it is.

  6. Chairman of the Bored on

“Congress has made decisions to protect our nation from certain illegal drugs”, Says Melon Headed Billy Long but we allow Alcohol, Tobacco and big Pharma to poison and kill thousands every year while Marijuana has a kill rate of Zero! Residents of Missouri it is time vote this Idiot out of office. This Clown is deranged and to be considered ignorant!

  7. And yes we will be legalizing all drugs. The drug war must end.

And btw, weed is the new swing vote!

  8. I did not ask your opinion, I asked that you represent my concerns. So in other words thank you for writing me but I am uneducated on ANY of the subject matter and refuse to do my job.
