Mother’s Day Marijuana Billboards Launched In Phoenix And Tucson

regulate marijuana like alcohol arizona 2016Backers of an initiative to end marijuana prohibition in Arizona launched a pair of Mother’s Day-themed billboards in Phoenix and Tucson on Monday. An image of the billboard is attached, and a high-resolution version is available at http://bit.ly/1N3OkrX.

Leaders of the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol will hold media availabilities at 11 a.m. in front of the billboard in Phoenix (1925 E. Indian School Rd.) and at 2 p.m. in front of the billboard in Tucson (3640 S. 6th Ave.).

The ads, which are targeted at younger voters, feature a young woman sitting with her mother and ask: “Have you talked to your parents about marijuana?” The goal of the ads is to flip the script on marijuana education and encourage younger voters to start conversations about marijuana with their family members — especially older generations who have been led to believe marijuana is more harmful than it actually is. The billboards direct viewers to a website — http://TalkItUpArizona.org — that allows them to send a message about marijuana to their parents or other relatives. The billboards will run through Sunday, which is Mother’s Day.

“For decades, the federal government distributed anti-marijuana propaganda to parents and encouraged them to share it with their children,” said CRMLA Chairman J.P. Holyoak. “It’s time for younger folks to start sharing the facts about marijuana with their parents and other older relatives.

“Older voters tend to be less familiar with marijuana and, as a result, more concerned about making it legal for adults,” Holyoak said. “Younger voters need to talk to their parents about marijuana and make sure they understand it is actually less harmful than alcohol. They are the voices of reason, and we want to help them make their voices heard.”

Well, Ohio legislators are still trying to figure things out in an effort to provide medical marijuana. The problem is the same as other states. Too restrictive via stranglehold policies on doctors and impotent potency levels too weak to do any good. The weekend before this, there were several more heroin deaths. One of which included a young mother and her unborn child. I sent Senator Hackett an email that I am willing to risk my health and life to prove marijuana is safer. That if permitted I am willing to be taken to Colorado and give a huge amount of the strongest available marijuana in every form available and that when I don’t die from an overdose, he has to help convince the House Representatives to allow stronger strains and potency as well as remove the every 90 day grill fest on doctors who recommend marijuana. I told him to have it video taped and doctor present to evaluate and monitor my condition….Anyone willing to grant this mom a mother’s day gift can support me in this endeavor to prove marijuana is safe and help by getting the word out. I do not currently use marijuana so I have no tolerance built up and I feel intoxicated after only 1/2 a beer. Action speaks louder than words….please help….Thank you

It will IF we effectively educate others about its benefits
and relative safety compared to other, more dangerous things
    that are already legal.
