To all marijuana entrepreneurs heading into the brave new world of recreational use in Oregon,
Expect the Unexpected from Measure 91:
In November 2014, Oregon joined Washington, Colorado, and Alaska as the third state to legalize the recreational use of marijuana. Measure 91 contains many provisions pertaining to the organization and licensing of recreational marijuana businesses. Measure 91 also puts the fate of the recreational marijuana industry in the hands of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC). Throughout 2015, the OLCC will undertake a rule making process to add additional standards, requirements, and restrictions to Measure 91. As a result, prospective marijuana business licensees need to be prepared.
On February 4, 2015, The Canna Law Team will host a legal educational panel to discuss the issues you need to understand before you pursue registration with the OLCC in 2016.
Our panel will include attorney experts on many important business and legal topics, including:
- Government relations and lobbying,
- Corporate formation,
- Popular trends in rule making and licensing across the various marijuana-friendly states,
- What Oregon can learn from Initiative 502 in Washington,
- Product labeling, packaging, and liability issues, and
- Laying the groundwork now for future growth and expansion under Measure 91.
Network with Other Prospective Licensees:
Our past educational seminars and law firm events also serve to unite industry players. This seminar will be a great opportunity to meet with many of Oregon’s prospective producers, processors, and retailers, in addition to industry attorneys, lobbyists, marketing professionals, and many more.
Prospective producers, processors, retailers, and any other members of the cannabis business community are welcome to attend. The seminar will run from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on February 4th at the World Trade Center in Downtown Portland. A happy hour networking session will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Admission is $50.00. Attendees who register before January 16th will receive a $15 discount. For those of you who cannot make the seminar in person, there will also be registration for a live webinar feed.
