Reminder – Cannabis Lobby Day At The Oregon Capitol Today

oregon marijuanaIf you are near Oregon’s capital today and don’t have to work, you should attend the cannabis lobby day. This is going to be a very, very important session, and Oregon’s legislators need to hear from cannabis patients and supporters. There are a lot of proposed changes to the OMMP this session, with more on the way I’m sure. Be heard. If you can’t attend the lobby day, make sure to write your elected officials and let them know how important it is to keep the OMMP intact while Measure 91 is being implemented. Below is more info about the event, via the event’s Facebook page:

Come join our rally and let your voice be heard! Campaign for the Restoration and Regulation of Hemp (CRRH), along with several other cannabis organizations, will be participating in Cannabis Lobby Day at the Oregon State Capitol on Monday, February 8, 2016. The free speech event, will feature speakers, music and vendors, will be held from 12pm to 5pm.

* Protect the OMMP and continue the fight for patient rights and access to medicine.

* Prevent over-regulation of marijuana under M91 by the OHA, OLCC, OAC and ONI that could hinder, rather than aid, the creation, regulation and stabilization of legal marijuana related businesses.

* No Federal Scheduling – Support the effort to remove cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act. It is time for the federal government to remove cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act.

* Show support for social cannabis clubs. Clubs are an essential aspect of our culture and there should be allowance for these types of clubs.

* Network with Other Local Groups – CRRH, The Human Solution International, Oregon Chapter of Parents 4 Pot, Portland NORML, Cannabis Liberation Front and more!

All are encouraged to attend. We suggest to those who cannot attend to call or write to your representative and fill their inbox and voice mail with your input! Make your voice heard!

  1. If they wanna “fix” OMMP, then “patients” can stop demanding free drugs and they can start only consuming non-recreationallt attractive products

  2. So 10 plants and 32 oz of carry isn’t enough?

I can easily supply 2 oz a month with M91 and 4 plants.

People who are growing their own stash are not regulated.

Its folks like me that sell in order to generate income who will be bean counting…. and its actually quite an easy task as well.

If you think “patients” deserve “free drugs” maybe you should start producing them for free..

Its not that easy to get opioids…its probably easier to get pot since you can’t just pay a doctor to write you a scrip the way you can with pot.

  3. The new rules are being implemented because of the gross manipulation of the OMMP .. Patients that grower shop and then sell thier medicine … The OLCC directed the OHA to tighten up the tracking of mmj to help stop black market leakage so marijuana taxation will work ..

  4. The OMMP is a failure. It once allowed for patients to pay $175 for an office visit to beg their doctors to sign their paperwork for the OMMP program while Providence and other insurance carriers prohibited their doctors from signing such paperwork. So, then, the patient had to find a patient-friendly private provider and pay an additional $200 for that office visit and signature. Then, the patient has to pay an additional $200 fee to the state to register and wait months for approval. So, suffering patients without all that money were just out of luck. Now, the OMMP wants patients to track the growth of their own plant grows on top of buying seeds, fertilizer, tools, equipment, etc. If the patient can’t grow their own medication, they have to pay a clinic by the gram for the medicine that they need. In the meantime, it’s legal to grow 4 plants in Oregon with no doctor blackmail payment, no permit payment, no growth tracking of your 6 medical plants. They have successfully ELIMINATED medical marijuana and forced everyone to grow their own or buy it from a marijuana retail outlet.

Wonder when suffering patients can just go to Wallgreens for their marijuana without paying so much money? Wondering why I can so easily get a prescription for opoids for pain but have to stand on my head, gargle peanut butter and come up with a lot of cash for my marijuana medicine?
