Roseanne Has A Message For Obama About Medical Marijuana

You Get My Joint When You Pry It Out Of My Cold, Dead Fingers!

Despite his campaign promise to not interfere with state medical cannabis programs, President Obama has arguably been the worst president we’ve had in regards to our nation’s cannabis laws. Many cannabis activists who supported Obama in 2008 are now rightly very disappointed in the President as he continues to waste our resources waging a failed war against our own citizens. One medical cannabis patient, Roseanne Barr, is rightly fed up with federal troops usurping the will of the voters as she tells the President that, “You get my joint when you pry it out of my cold, dead fingers!”

While it may not be surprising that a comedian like Roseanne (or an actor likeMorgan Freeman) would support sensible cannabis laws. But the realization that the War on Drugs simply doesn’t work has dawned upon Fareed Zakaria, Chris Christie, Judge Andrew Napolitano and Pat Robertson. Recent polling and the fact that three states will be voting to legalize cannabis for adults this November demonstrates that ending cannabis prohibition is no longer a third rail of politics. Roseanne is not alone. Cannabis use, medical or recreational, is here to stay and people across all demographics are supporting legalization. President Obama, and all politicians, should be taking notice.
