Washington D.C. voters legalized marijuana during the 2014 Election. Since that time, Washington DC has been under attack by federal politicians who obviously don’t like the fact that marijuana is legal in Washington DC.. There is still a ton of work left to be done in Washington D.C., despite the favorable 2014 vote. The D.C. Council is going to largely determine the future of cannabis policy in D.C., and D.C. residents deserve to have councilors that will fight for them. There is an event tonight dedicated to discussing cannabis policy with D.C. Council candidates. Below is more information, via the event’s Eventbrite page:

Are you a Cannabis Voter in DC? This town hall is for you!

Sorry to have to tell you, but Harris won his primary against cannabis friendly Republicans in a walk. He got over 75%. I’m sure a lot of the people who voted for him don’t agree with him about medicinal cannabis. I imagine he’ll win in Nov. too, he’s in a very red district.
DWS has a primary opponent too, endorsed by Bernie. But Obama just supported her staying as DNC chair, so that flaming bigot has powerful support too..

  2. I can only hope that everyone remembers Rep. Any Harris (R) Maryland and what he did that has caused this nonsensical mess in D.C. He is a Maryland Rep (R). While not seated on the D.C. budget allocation committee, he was still permitted to make a statement that instilled his prohibitionist stance on cannabis. He came in, made his statement, than got up and left without any Q&A, odd,????. I have no doubt that his action is a direct result of his direct ties to the Rehab Indu$try and big Pharma, as documented in many pictorials. He is a bought and paid for legislator, like many others. Last I heard he was doomed in the polls, lets hope and help he stays that way, “DOOMED” and a political one term career in the toilet, or the out house in the back yard. Rep. Debbie w Slutzs (D) Florida (also the DNC Chair ?) is another one, already bought and paid for. Let the action of the voters regarding legislators like these, use it as a litmus test on all things, not just MJ. It sends a message to all the others, that we are on to you, and your on the wrong side of history.
Perhaps any further updates on Harris or Slutzs as many others, may be warranted on TWB.
