United States Army Forbids Soldiers From Using Any Hemp Product

us army hemp products ban soldiersThe United State Army has recently released an article on their website urging people away from the alcoholic drink Purgatory, a vodka. Not caring about the fact that it’s a strong alcoholic drink, which is entirely fine for soldiers to take part in, the Army instead takes issue with the fact that this particular vodka is made with 20% hemp seeds. The product is sold legally throughout the U.S.; it goes through a stringent process to ensure that it contains no amount of THC. Like other hemp products, there’s nothing illegal about the drink on the federal level.

However, the Army doesn’t care, stating: “What must be stressed among military personnel is that even though Purgatory Vodka is said to be free of THC, and even though hemp byproducts are not illegal in the civilian world, this gives zero justification to those in the military…It is the ‘prohibited use’ that soldiers need to remember.”

The article points to AR600-85, the “Army Substance Abuse Program”, which explicitly disallows the use of hemp products by soldiers, including any of its derivatives: “this regulation prohibits Soldiers from using hemp or products containing hemp oil.”

This is brainwashing at its absolutely worst. There’s no reason for them to deny soldiers the use of hemp products any more than they would object to their use of aloe vera. Even among this ridiculous prohibition on cannabis, it’s entirely legal to possess and use hemp products – as long as you don’t cultivate the actual plant.

The only reason that can be seen for the Army continuing to push this archaic portion of their rules, is to try and sway their soldier’s opinion on hemp and cannabis policies. When you consider how incredible of a protein hemp seeds can be, denying our soldiers even the ability to consume hemp seeds or hemp seed oil is absurd.

As many know, it wasn’t too long ago that our government was promoting the propaganda video “Hemp for Victory“, which laid out how important it was for Americans to get behind hemp as an industrial commodity. The government even gave draft deferments to farmers willing to grow hemp, and handed out hemp seeds themselves.

As citizens, we should be speaking out on behalf of our soldiers: The U.S. Army has absolutely no right or justification to deny soldiers the use of a crop that, indicated by congressional research, has a legal market in this country of over 25,000 various products, ranging from foods to clothing.

so will they come up with a test for cbd ? Since it is not on the CSA
And what would be the cbd content of wild hemp?

All of our products are tested by Test Pledge, to make sure they have no THC. We pay good money to make sure measures are put in place to make sure no one tests positive by use our hemp products, including teachers, police men, and several occupations equally as pee test dependent as someone in the armed forces. Please spread the word that we work hard to make sure you’re safe, just like you do for us. Thank you for your service. http://www.Jeffsbesthemp.com

  3. 25 disturbing facts about psych drugs, soldiers and suicides Learn more:

(NaturalNews) We are living in an age of upside-downs, where right is wrong, fiction is truth and war is peace. Those who fight the wars are subjected to their own house of mirrors via pharmaceutical “treatments.”
Instead of providing U.S. soldiers and veterans with actual health care, the government throws pills at them and calls it “therapy.”

Stimulants, antidepressants, anti-psychotics, sedatives and pain meds are the new “fuel” for America’s front-line forces. While the idea of sending medicated soldiers into battle was unthinkable just three decades ago, today it’s the status quo. And the cost in human lives has never been more tragic.

Here are 25 disturbing facts about psych drugs, soldiers and suicides. They are disturbing because everybody seems to be pretending there is no link between psychiatric drugs and soldier suicides. So soldiers and veterans keep dying while the Pentagon (and the VA) keep pretending they don’t know why. (Sources are listed at the bottom of this article.)

    1) 33% of the U.S. Army is on prescription medications, and nearly a quarter of those are on psychotropic drugs

    2) In 2010, the Pentagon spent $280 million on psychiatric drugs. That number has since risen.

    3) There are now over 8,000 suicides each year by U.S. soldiers and veterans; that’s over 22 a day

    4) 33% of those suicides are attributed to medication side effects

    5) That means medications are killing more U.S. soldiers and veterans than Al-Qaeda

    6) 500% more soldiers abuse prescription drugs than illegal street drugs

    7) Under the Obama administration, the number of veterans waiting for VA care has risen from 11,000 in 2009 to 245,000 today

    8) More active duty soldiers die from suicide than from combat: 349 dead last year

    9) The number of prescriptions for Ritalin and Adderall written for active-duty soldiers has increased 1,000% in the last five years

    10) For every active-duty service member who dies in battle, 25 veterans die by suicide.

    11) Only 1 percent of Americans have served in the Middle East, but veterans of combat there make up 20% of all suicides in the United States

    12) The suicide rate of active-duty soldiers in the Civil War was only 9 – 15 per 100,000 soldiers. The suicide rate of active-duty U.S. soldiers in the Middle East is 23 per 100,000. And casualty rates were far higher in the Civil War, meaning the Civil War was more psychologically traumatic.

    13) In the Korean War, the suicide rate among active-duty military soldiers was only 11 per 100,000

    14) To date, the Pentagon has spent more than a billion dollars on psychiatric drugs, making it one of the largest customers of Big Pharma

    15) In 2010, over 213,000 active-duty military personnel were taking medications considered “high risk” by the Pentagon

    16) In the years since the Iraq War began, twice as many soldiers of the Texas Army National Guard have died of suicide than in combat

    17) Defense Secretary Leon Panetta calls military suicides an “epidemic”

    18) Of all the branches of the military, the Army has the highest number of suicides each year, almost 400% more than the Marines

    19) Most active-duty soldiers who take psychiatric medications consume a combination of three to five prescriptions

    20) The use of prescription medications by active-duty soldiers is “largely unregulated”. Soldiers are given a bottle of meds and sent into combat. If they run out of meds, they are given a refill, no questions asked.

    21) The mainstream media says the answer to lowering suicides of veterans is to “take away their guns” so that they cannot shoot themselves. This is the logical equivalent to trying to fix your car’s engine by removing the
    “check engine” light.

    22) The Pentagon is initiating new research (in 2013) to try to figure out why psychiatric medications cause soldiers to commit suicide. The research involves tracking brain activity by attaching electrodes to the skull.

    23) One-third of military suicides are committed by soldiers who have never seen combat.

    24) In the last year, the military wrote over 54,000 prescriptions for Seroquel to soldiers, and all those prescriptions were “off label,” meaning the intended use has never been approved by the FDA as safe or effective.

    25) Dr. Bart Billings, a retired Army Colonel and former military psychologist, refers to psychiatric drugs as a “chemical lobotomy” for

  4. Ky Vets for Legal Cannabis on

How ironic the plant that once ran an army now being banned by that same army.

  5. Nah, there just doing it to be assholes.. they themselves acknowledged the fact that the vodka had no Thc but they banned it for “Moral” reasons >-< its the illumanati pushing the boundires of human stupidy, they see us as sheep because we really are, people now and days are naive AF )= Search for the Truth!!

  6. If you want to stop the Army from using things…try Viagra. It might just keep them from raping their women soldiers. Oh maybe stop them from eating GMO’s that give their bodies CANCER!….How about keep them from eating handfuls of anti-depressants and drinking hard liquor before they kill themselves…just trying to be a helpful Veteran. I’ll never stop using Hemp. I don’t give a damn who ordered it. By the way…. Who gave such a stupid, idiotic, unnecessary order to our Army…Any Ideas? We need to educate that moron! I’d like to Challenge that order. Military orders have to be lawful, or troops can just blow it off. What can be lawful about not using hemp products that will only improve over all health? I guess President Clinton is pissed because he named Hemp Beer the official beer of the US Army once. There is nothing legal about hemp prohibition from Military! It is a suggestion..not an order. If it is an order then who ever gave it should be punished and sent to Military Prison for giving unlawful orders. Plus making the Army look like a bunch of dumb asses.

  7. We may not know now why the federal government is adamant about the user of cannabis products, but we will in the not so distant future…

  8. Hemp foods are 100% THC free. You don’t test positive for marijuana by consuming industrial hemp products.

  9. I think the reason the Army did that is because when hemp seed and hemp seed oil first started being used in the US there were some distributors that had some small percentage of THC in it and people were failing drug tests and saying it was because of the hemp seed so they just decided to make hemp seed also prohibited. (http://www.testpledge.com/answers.htm ). Now that technology has progressed, hemp seed is no longer an excuse for a positive THC screen, so the Army needs to change it’s rules and allow it but they probably won’t unless someone makes them.

  10. There’s 4 letters that makes this legal for them to do. UCMJ – Uniform Code of Military Justice Depending on how much you ENJOY your career would determine whether I’d take the chance of drinking it or not. If you don’t care if you have a BAD Conduct discharge or a Dishonorable Discharge on your record. Drink that shit til the cows come home! There’s NO bigger a supporter to legalize Cannabis than myself. However, as a Vet, I also should tell you that I wouldn’t and DIDN’T chance it. One of the ONLY things they ask of you, is to NOT do drugs of ANY kind! If you can’t abstain from drugs for 4 yrs., you shouldn’t be there in the first place. The consequences for IGNORING their warnings follow you for too long after you get discharged. It’s NOT worth it and I would encourage Soldiers to PAY HEED to these statements! You can smoke as much as you want when you get out of the military!

Im pretty sure the USA is the 1 of the only countries NOT growing hemp!
    200% more cellulose than cotton
    thanks DUPONT Plastic! for nothing…

  12. Interesting. In WW2 we had uniforms and equipment made from American hemp and we defeated the Nazis and the Japanese simultaniously, two of the greatest militaries ever assembled. Today, many of our uniforms are manufactured in foreign countries using whatever artificial stuff they use, and we are getting our azzes handed to us by third world countries.

Me thinks the reason is for drug testing , if you ingest cannabis seeds or hempseedoil
you could test positive for “marijuana”
The veterans admin has done some advancement !
PTSD is 1 of the illness that cannabis is excellent for!

  14. earthlovermother76 on

When will people realize hemp & cannabis are exponentially better for us than almost every other medicinal or consumer product currently on the market, plus they are much cheaper to grow & actually benefical to our environment!!! This is just another prime example of the government forcing more injustice on our society.
